STEPHEN F. OAKES has been involved, as both an agent and principal, in advising, acquiring, selling and financing middle market companies for the past 29 years. Starting his career at AETNA, he spent five years structuring and purchasing private placements for the Bond Investment Department. He then spent seven years at WERTHEIM SCHRODER & CO. , working on private placement, leveraged buyout and merger & acquisition transactions for a variety of clients in Corporate Finance. Working in a similar capacity, Mr. Oakes spent the next three years as a managing director in investment banking at ROBERT FLEMING, INC. in New York. After seven years making principal acquisitions and managing investments in the oilfield services industry as a Managing Director at RESOURCE INVESTORS MANAGEMENT COMPANY, he spent the past two years as Vice President of Acquisitions and Corporate Development at EXECUTIVE GREETINGS, an acquisition platform company in the direct marketing industry. Steve earned his B.A. from BOWDOIN COLLEGE and his M.B.A. from the AMOS TUCK SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION at DARTMOUTH.
